Karang Asam Festival

The Karang Asam Festival is back in 2025, with the theme "Labyrinth of Culture" (LOC), showcasing the rich cultural heritage of South Sumatra, especially Muara Enim. This first-of-its-kind community-driven festival has successfully been held three times since 2022, with the goal of strengthening bonds between locals and fostering a spirit of cooperation.

The LOC theme invites us to explore the complex culture of Muara Enim—from its traditions, language, to the arts that shape the daily lives of its people. This labyrinth symbolizes the long journey of culture, with its elements interwoven in diversity and interaction.

The Karang Asam Festival 2025 aims to be an event that is not only entertaining, but also promotes local economic growth and provides educational value. This festival is set to be a pilot project for the emergence of high-quality festivals in South Sumatra, celebrating culture while making a positive impact on the local community.
