Festival Pesona Meti Kei

The Pesona Meti Kei Festival 2025 celebrates the unique tidal phenomenon, Meti Kei, in the Kei Islands. The highlight is the traditional “Wer Warat”, a communal fishing practice using coconut leaves, reflecting the locals’ spirit of cooperation and cultural heritage.

With the theme “Accelerating Southeast Maluku Tourism Development Toward a Sustainable Regenerative Tourism Destination”, this festival is designed as a Hybrid Event. Cultural performances such as traditional Kei dances and community activities will be showcased live and streamed virtually on YouTube Visit Kei.
