It’s Time for Young Indonesian Entrepreneurs to Shine!
Junior Chamber International (JCI) Indonesia proudly hosted the largest gathering of young entrepreneurs in the Asia-Pacific region, the Junior Chamber International Aspac Conference 2023, in Jakarta. This significant achievement deserves recognition, considering JCI's prestigious status as a Special Consultative Member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the remarkable attendance of 4,800 delegates from 36 countries worldwide.
The conference took place from May 10 to 13, 2023, at the Gelora Bung Karno complex, encompassing The Sultan Hotel, Tennis Indoor Senayan, and the Jakarta Convention Center. Themed “Seeing is Believing, the Beauty of Indonesia,” the event aimed to introduce and promote Indonesia's world-class tourist destinations to international delegates. Over four days, JCI Aspac 2023 featured various activities, including seminars, training sessions, trade shows, general assemblies, international forums addressing contemporary issues and their solutions, cultural exchanges through National Nights, Business Forums, Exhibitions, the JCI Debating Championship, the JCI World Public Speaking Championship, the JCI Awards Ceremony, Twinning Chapter activities, the JCI Aspac Senate Board Meeting, and a Farewell Ball (Gala).
The event was graced by prominent Indonesian leaders, including Dr. H. Bambang Soesatyo, S.E., M.B.A., Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI); Mr. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia; Mr. Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia; Dr. Hj. Ida Fauziyah, M.Si., Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia; Mr. Arsjad Rasjid, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN); and the special guest, Mrs. Sara Duterte-Carpio, Vice President of the Philippines.
Hosting JCI Aspac 2023 in Indonesia brought significant benefits to the nation, including enhancing its global image and trust as a premier international MICE destination. The conference also contributed positively to the economy, particularly in Bali's recovery post-pandemic. Moreover, the event is expected to attract investors to collaborate in promoting Indonesia's destinations and advancing local tourism.
