The Malay Heritage Gathering

The Gelar Melayu Serumpun is an event aimed at preserving Malay art and culture as an essential element of national cultural heritage while serving as a platform for fostering connections among Malay communities from different regions, both within and outside the province, as well as neighboring countries. This event has been included in the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) for three consecutive years since 2022.

Spanning five days, Gelar Melayu Serumpun features performances by art troupes from both domestic and international participants, including Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, India, and others, showcasing artistic and cultural attractions. The 2025 Gelar Melayu Serumpun will be enlivened with various exciting activities, such as the Tari Gelar Melayu Serumpun dance performance, orchestral music presentations, and culinary demonstrations of traditional Malay dishes.

Under the theme "Weaving Hope, Becoming Family," Gelar Melayu Serumpun will be held at the iconic Istana Maimoon, a symbol of the grandeur of Malay culture in the city of Medan.
